An Olympia man riding his motorcycle in Lewis County Sunday afternoon was hit by a deer, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 4:20 p.m., the 64-year-old man was headed east on U.S. Highway 12, approaching the town of Mossyrock.

Troopers say that at milepost 86, the man was “struck by a deer that jumped into the roadway,” according to a State Patrol memo about the crash.

The man was injured and taken to Providence Centralia Hospital, the memo reads.
