2 hurt in two-car wreck near Elma, Washington State Patrol reports

Two drivers were injured Saturday near Elma, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 10:40 a.m., a 79-year-old Hoquiam woman was headed east on U.S. Highway 12 at state Route 8, and a 32-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was driving in the same direction.

Also in the area: An emergency vehicle, with lights and sirens activated, according to State Patrol.

Troopers say the 32-year-old woman yielded for the emergency vehicle, but the Hoquiam woman did not and crashed into the Washington, D.C., woman’s car.

Both women were injured in the crash and taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.
