Multi-vehicle collision involving tanker truck causes major backup on I-5 near Olympia

A motorhome involved in a collision with a tanker near southbound Interstate 5’s Exit 105 near downtown Olympia around 1 p.m. gets hauled away Monday afternoon. The traffic incident blocked all but one lane of traffic near Henderson Boulevard Southeast, with traffic back-ups reported as far north as Marvin Road in Lacey, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s social media. Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo said there was no spill reported from the truck, and there were no hazardous materials concerns. Dattilo said there were no serious injuries reported, nor any arrests made.

A multi-vehicle collision involving a tanker truck and a motorhome was reported on Monday afternoon near southbound Interstate 5’s Exit 105 in Olympia.

The collision was reported at around 1 p.m. on Monday. All but one lane of traffic was blocked near Henderson Boulevard Southeast, causing traffic to backup to Marvin Road in Lacey, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s social media.

Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo said there was no spill reported from the truck, and there were no hazardous materials concerns.

Dattilo said there were no serious injuries reported, nor any arrests made.

Traffic was still down to one lane until after 2 p.m., according to WSDOT.
