State Patrol investigating early-morning shooting on I-5 ramp on Olympia’s east side

The Washington State Patrol is investigating a shooting that happened on Monday morning on a freeway off-ramp on Olympia’s east side. Detectives are still working to identify the suspect.

WSP Trooper John Dattilo said they received information at 7:22 a.m. that a shooting had occurred at the end of the off-ramp from southbound I-5 to Sleater Kinney Road. He said two people had an altercation that ended in the suspect firing a round.

The victim was hit in the hip and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Dattilo said detectives are working to identify the suspect. The Olympia Police Department assisted on the call.
