Thurston deputy finds passenger mid-birth following car crash in Olympia Saturday

TCSO

A Thurston County sheriff’s deputy responding to a collision early Saturday morning found one of the passengers actively giving birth, Sheriff Derek Sanders said on his social media.

A deputy stumbled across a fresh two-car collision at the intersection of Cooper Point Road and Black Lake Boulevard in southwest Olympia, Sanders posted Saturday afternoon.

The deputy found that a passenger in one of the vehicles was actively giving birth. Sanders said the Olympia Police Department and medical personnel arrived to transport the new parents to the hospital. He said no serious injuries were reported.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office couldn’t be reached Sunday for more information regarding the cause of the collision.
