Drug deal goes bad after buyer is locked in SUV and assaulted, Olympia police say
A 38-year-old man was assaulted and money stolen from him after an alleged drug deal went awry late last month, according to Olympia police.
About 8 p.m. July 26, the man allegedly said he went to buy drugs from another party in the 1700 block of Boulevard Road Southeast, Lt. Paul Lower said.
When he arrived, the other party was in an SUV. A woman was at the wheel, a man was inside the vehicle and another man was outside the vehicle walking a dog.
As the victim approached the SUV, he was shoved into it by the man with the dog, the doors were locked and they drove off, Lower said.
They then began to threaten and assault the man and demanded access to an app on his phone so they could transfer money. The victim was eventually dropped off in the area of 78th Avenue Southeast, Lower said.
Meanwhile, Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the vehicle and two occupants in the 7600 block of Fifth Avenue Southeast, which is in the Tanglewilde area of the county.
A 32-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and first-degree kidnapping. The man with the dog is still at large, Lower said.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
