Driver, 19, hits SUV, then crashes into Oakville store Monday night, WSP says
A 19-year-old driver, suspected of driving under the influence and speeding, struck an SUV Monday night, then veered off and crashed into a general store in Oakville, according to Washington State Patrol.
About 11 p.m. Monday, the 19-year-old Rochester man and his 21-year-old passenger from Aberdeen were headed west on U.S. Highway 12 at State Street, according to State Patrol.
Troopers say the Rochester man struck the SUV, which was occupied by six people, then veered to the left and crashed into The Little Bit general store.
The Rochester man’s 2004 Ford Mustang came to a stop inside the store, according to State Patrol.
His passenger was not injured, but he was still transported to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma to be checked out, troopers say.
No other injuries were reported.
