‘Ultimate retreat’ — with a barn and helicopter shop — is for sale in Olympia
From a place for horses to a spot for helicopters, this $2.4 million property for sale in the Olympia area has some surprising features.
“This exceptional estate is the ultimate retreat for horse lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike,” according to the listing from Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty.
The 15.8-acre property includes a four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home, plus an outbuilding with a three-stall barn and a one-bedroom apartment.
And, “aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the impressive 6,350-square-foot helicopter shop and possible living quarters above,” as well as a secondary shop, the listing said.
There’s also garage space in spades on the property, with room “for 20-plus vehicles, RVs, and all your toys,” according to the listing.
The home at 7417 Johnson Road SE was built in 1992.
“It was custom built for the original owner, a local jeweler,” Courtney Drennon, the listing broker, told The Olympian by phone.
The outbuilding with the horse stalls and apartment went in around the same time the house was built, Drennon said, and there’s room for more stalls to be added.
The property also has plenty of flat land for an arena, she said.
The helicopter shop came several years after the initial construction, when the property changed hands to an owner who loved to fly.
The property also boasts a helipad.
Plus, there’s a pool and 1,800-square-foot patio, and 700 feet of frontage along Eaton Creek, the listing said.
“Designed with luxurious living and next-level functionality in mind, this one-of-a-kind property blends refined comfort with bold adventure,” according to the listing.
Drennon said she envisions many possible uses, from a multigenerational compound to a venue for wedding or other events.
“I think it could service a lot of unique things,” Drennon said. “There are multiple opportunities on the property to make it what you want.”
