Are Target and Safeway open on Labor Day? Here’s a list of Olympia closures

If you run out of ketchup or hamburger buns mid-Labor Day barbecue, don’t fret — many grocery stores in Olympia will be open on Monday.

Target will be open, too, and so will Capital Mall.

If you’re hoping for some outdoor time, you’re in luck as city parks will be open from dawn to dusk. Downtown on-street parking is free.

However, some holiday closures are planned throughout the city.

Many grocery stores in Olympia will be open on Labor Day, including:

Albertsons: 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Bayview Thriftway: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Haggen Northwest Fresh: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Olympia Food Co-Op: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ralph’s Thriftway: 6 a.m. to midnight

Safeway: 5 a.m. to midnight

Trader Joe’s: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Are pharmacies open on Labor Day?

The CVS pharmacy in Target will be open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, per Target’s website.

Arow Pharmacy will be open with shortened hours, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The pharmacy in Walgreens on Cooper Point Road SW will be closed, per the store website, and pharmacies in some grocery stores may be closed.

Is Capital Mall in Olympia open on Labor Day?

Capital Mall will be open during its regular Monday hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Labor Day. The mall’s website notes that the hours of individual restaurants and stores may sometimes vary.
