A three-vehicle collision in Lacey Saturday morning sent three people to area hospitals, including a woman whose injuries were so serious she was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Lacey police.

Police initially identified the seriously injured party as a man.

Around 6:20 a.m., the female driver of a Ford Focus was headed south on Kinwood Street Southeast approaching Pacific Avenue, said Lacey police Sgt. Jeremy Knight.

At the intersection, the Ford Focus driver turned left and crashed into a box truck, causing the truck to veer left and crash into an eastbound Jeep Cherokee. The truck ultimately wound up on its side and spilled some of the milk it was hauling, Knight said.

Five people were involved in the crash and three were injured, Knight said. The Ford Focus driver was taken to Harborview. Two others were transported to an area hospital, he said.

Other details about the crash were not immediately available. Knight said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A spill-response team arrived to clean up the spilled milk, he said.

Pacific Avenue reopened to traffic just before 10 a.m., according to a Lacey police Facebook post.
