Pedestrian hit and killed by Mason County driver Sunday morning, troopers report
A Mason County driver struck and killed a pedestrian on an area freeway Sunday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.
About 11:30 a.m., a 56-year-old Hoodsport man was headed south on Interstate 205 in Clark County.
Troopers say that at milepost 36, the pedestrian ran from the right shoulder of the freeway into lane one and was struck by the driver’s vehicle.
The pedestrian, who was not identified, died at the scene, according to State Patrol.
The driver and his 52-year-old passenger were not hurt.
