A 50-year-old Rochester woman was injured Monday morning in a wreck on southbound Interstate 5, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 11:20 a.m., the woman and a 78-year-old Oregon driver were both headed south in Cowlitz County near the Toutle River rest area.

Troopers say the Oregon man swerved to his right, then over-corrected his steering to the left and crashed into the Rochester’s woman vehicle.

Troopers say the cause of the crash was “improper lane usage.”

The Oregon driver and his passenger were not injured, but the Rochester woman was hurt, according to State Patrol.

She was taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview for treatment of her injuries.
