Lacey man dies at scene of crash in Pacific County on Sunday

The Washington State Patrol is investigating a collision that killed a Lacey man Sunday morning just north of Raymond in Pacific County.

The person who died was Jeremy M. Wetherald, 50, according to the State Patrol.

The collision happened at 10:46 a.m. Oct. 5. A 26-year-old Wyoming man was driving south on U.S. 101 just north of Butte Creek Road when he crossed the center line and struck a minivan, causing it to roll. The minivan came to rest down an embankment.

Wetherald was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his car was transported to an area hospital with injuries.

The driver who caused the collision was transported to Willapa Harbor Hospital. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but drugs or alcohol is believed to have been involved.
