Medical exam set for man found dead on Rainier Road near Lacey

A man was found dead Sunday morning in Thurston County and will undergo a medical exam Tuesday, Coroner Gary Warnock said.

The Olympian has reached out to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office for more information about his death but has not heard back.

About 10:40 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 9200 block of Rainier Road Southeast, an address between Lacey and Rainier.

Warnock described the death as very suspicious. The man was found in some brush in close proximity to a vehicle, he said.

The coroner’s office is hoping to learn more about the man because he was found with no wallet and no identification with him, Warnock said.
