A 30-year-old Olympia man, suspected of driving under the influence, is now facing vehicular homicide and assault charges after a rollover crash that killed a female passenger, the Washington State Patrol reports.

About 11:20 p.m. Saturday, the man was driving north on state Route 821 at the Yakima/Kittitas county line in central Washington, according to State Patrol. He had two passengers: a 33-year-old Yakima woman and a baby girl.

Troopers say the Olympia man was driving at a “high rate of speed,” lost control of his vehicle and it rolled multiple times before coming to a stop on its wheels.

Two occupants were ejected from the vehicle, according to State Patrol. The Yakima woman died at the scene and the baby was injured and taken to Kittitas Valley Healthcare in Ellensburg.

The driver was not injured, according to State Patrol.
