Thurston Sheriff’s Office seeks photos, videos of burglary, shots fired and chase
A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes, including aiming or discharging a firearm, and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for photos or videos of the incident.
Late Friday night, deputies responded to a reported burglary, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post. The suspect drove away from the scene, resulting in a pursuit throughout south Thurston County.
The pursuit traveled from Gibson Road Southwest to Old Highway 99, then onto 183rd Avenue Southwest toward Rochester, before the fleeing vehicle was stopped in the 18700 block of Nutmeg Street Southwest after being disabled by a grappler device, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The suspect then fled on foot,” the post reads. “During the foot pursuit, shots were fired from the suspect’s last known location. The suspect was ultimately located on Loganberry Street Southwest and taken into custody following negotiations.”
The man was booked on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, first-degree theft, first-degree attempted theft, attempting to elude a police vehicle, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, aiming or discharging a firearm, first-degree malicious mischief and first-degree burglary, according to jail information.
Anyone with photos or videos is asked to upload them on the evidence submission portal.
