Did you see this Friday road-rage shooting? WA State Patrol seeks witnesses
The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a road-rage shooting in Lewis County last week, the agency announced Tuesday.
About 3:15 p.m. Friday, two drivers pulled over in the area of U.S. Highway 12 at milepost 109, which is about 12 miles east of the town of Morton, Trooper Dakota Russell said.
The driver of a Mercedes-Benz van pulled over to the side of the road, followed by the driver of a Dodge Durango behind the van, according to a news release.
The male driver of the van then emerged and punctured the two front tires of the Dodge with a knife and returned to his vehicle, according to the release.
As the van driver drove off, the Dodge driver exited the vehicle and fired several shots at the Mercedes with a handgun, according to the State Patrol. No one was injured.
“We are seeking any witnesses who may have been traveling through the area at the time of the incident or who observed the driving behavior of either vehicle prior to the stop,” the release reads.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Justin Maier via email at Justin.Maier@wsp.wa.gov or at 360-773-6740.
