Shelton pedestrian hit by car on Highway 101 Friday afternoon, troopers say
A 31-year-old Shelton man was airlifted to an area trauma center on Friday after he was hit by a car while attempting to cross a highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.
About 1 p.m., troopers say the man was walking on the right shoulder of the on-ramp of northbound 101 at Shelton-Matlock Road.
Meanwhile, a 78-year Hoodsport man was driving south on the highway.
Then, according to the State Patrol, the Shelton man attempted to cross the road to the southbound side and was hit by the car.
Both the driver and the Shelton man were injured. The Hoodsport man was taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton, while the pedestrian was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The Hoodsport driver was not impaired, according to State Patrol.
