Here’s how many Thurston County homes are without power. When will it return?

Puget Sound Energy reported on Friday morning that more than 8,500 customers were still without power across its coverage area in Western Washington. PSE spokesperson Andrew Padula told The Olympian that there are 478 customers in Thurston County who still need their lights turned back on.

Padula said as of Thursday afternoon, Thurston County had 3,541 PSE customers experiencing power outages from the rain and wind, down from 29,000 on Wednesday. He said crews work 24/7 during storms like these to restore power, and many customers regained power overnight.

He said PSE crews’ efforts to repair a downed transmission line over Interstate 5 near the Thurston/Pierce county line on Thursday night helped bring a lot of residents back on the grid.

Padula said most of the remaining 478 customers in Thurston County should see their power restored by Friday afternoon. He said some areas with extra storm damage will take longer, but only a handful of customers should be affected.
