Yelm driver hit pedestrian standing in roadway on Sunday, State Patrol reports
The Washington State Patrol reported that a Yelm driver hit a man who was standing in the road on Sunday in Shelton.
According to a Dec. 29 news release from the State Patrol, a 35-year-old Yelm man was driving northbound on U.S. 101 near milepost 347 in Shelton when he struck a pedestrian standing in the northbound lane.
The State Patrol identified the pedestrian as a 51-year-old man from Hoodsport.
The driver called 911, according to the release, and the pedestrian was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with injuries. Drugs or alcohol were not involved in the incident, according to the release.
