Coroner IDs pedestrian hit and killed in Tumwater grocery store parking lot

A woman who was struck and killed by a driver in a Tumwater parking lot Monday has been identified.

Victoria Roser, an 86-year-old Olympia woman, died from blunt force head injuries, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock told The Olympian on Wednesday. He deemed her manner of death an accident.

A driver struck Roser at a grocery store parking lot at 520 Cleveland Ave. Southeast just before noon Monday, Tumwater police Lt. Jen Kolb previously said. The driver, a 51-year-old man, “just didn’t see” Roser, Kolb said.

Kolb called it an unfortunate and sad accident.

Officers did not arrest the driver and they did not suspect he was driving under the influence or otherwise impaired, Kolb said.

Washington State Patrol assisted in the investigation Monday afternoon, she added.
