Three found dead in northwest Olympia — police investigation underway
Olympia police officers found three people killed by apparent gunshot wounds Saturday, sparking an ongoing investigation.
The department announced the incident Saturday evening with a post on social media.
“We are still out there right now, and still processing the scene,” said Olympia Police spokesman Paul Lower.
The initial dispatch call came at 10:37 a.m. with a report of an argument and gunfire. Officers responded to a residence in the 2300 block of 19th Court Northwest.
They found three people: one man and two women, all dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
“It sounds like we had multiple witnesses to this matter,” Lower told The Olympian. “We’ve been working with those witnesses all day.”
No arrests have been made. Lower did not know exact ages of the victims, and added that information about possible relationships among them was not yet clear.
Underlining a point made in the department’s social media statement, Lower added that police see no continuing threat to the community.
The department’s social media statement asked people to avoid the area of the crime scene, and asked anyone with information to call 360-704-2740.
“This is a tragic loss of life, and we are holding the families, loved ones, and all those impacted by this incident in our hearts during this difficult time,” the statement read. “We recognize incidents like this deeply affect families, neighbors, and our entire community, and we appreciate the community’s compassion, patience, and ongoing support as investigators work through the facts. We are grateful to the community members who provided timely information to dispatchers and officers on scene.”
