Shelton driver crashes into debris on U.S. 101 Saturday evening, WSP says

A 40-year-old Shelton man is suspected of failing to secure the load he was hauling after debris fell onto U.S. Highway 101 Saturday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 6 p.m., the Shelton man was driving south on U.S. 101 at C-Street when “sheet metal roof components” fell onto the highway.

A 33-year-old Shelton man, driving in the same direction, then crashed into the debris before stopping on the southbound shoulder of the highway. He was not injured, according to State Patrol.

The Shelton man hauling the roof components stopped in the area of the Shelton Matlock Road, according to State Patrol.

Troopers say multiple vehicles drove over the debris before law enforcement arrived on the scene.
