Man found with gunshot wound at area motel Saturday night, Lacey police say

A man in his 50s was found with an apparent gunshot wound at an area motel Saturday night, according to Lacey police.

About 9:20 p.m, police were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel, which is in the area of Martin Way East and College Street Southeast, after a report of a disturbance.

“The victim was conscious and speaking with first responders, and transported to a local hospital for care,” said Lacey Sgt. Derek Thompson on Sunday. “The victim is still alive.”

Lacey detectives are investigating the incident, but do not have a lot of information, he said. The suspect or suspects are still outstanding, although police believe there is no threat to the public, Thompson said.
