Shelton driver left the scene of Hwy. 101 wreck Monday night, State Patrol says

A 62-year-old Shelton man is suspected of felony hit-and-run after he crashed his vehicle and then allegedly ran from the scene Monday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

He left behind three passengers, all of them also in their early 60s. A Port Orchard woman was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Another Shelton man “refused aid,” according to the State Patrol, while an Olympia man was not hurt.

About 10:15 p.m., the four people were headed south on U.S. Highway 101, approaching Kamilche in Mason County.

Troopers say the driver attempted to turn right onto Lynch Road, but failed to negotiate the turn and drove off the road. The vehicle came to a stop on the northbound shoulder of West Kamilche Lane.

The crash is under investigation.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, according to the State Patrol.
