More than $9 million in unclaimed lottery prizes are set to expire over the next few months, according to Washington’s Lottery.
That includes a winning Match 4 ticket sold at an Olympia gas station.

What are unclaimed lottery prizes in Washington state?
According to Washington’s Lottery, lottery winners have yet to claim 14 large prizes valued at $10,000 or more, totaling $9.5 million.
Two of those unclaimed lottery prizes expire in the next two weeks — including a $10,000 jackpot for a winning Match 4 ticket sold in Airway Height
The $617,500 prize for a winning Hit 5 ticket told in Euphrata has also gone unclaimed.
Meanwhile, one lucky lottery player has until late July to claim a winning lottery ticket worth $82 million. It was purchased at a Bellingham gas station.
Where was winning lottery ticket sold in Olympia?
Someone bought a Match 4 ticket worth $10,000 at the Fast Shop gas station at Safeway, 3205 Northwest Harrison Ave. in Olympia, according to a Washington’s Lottery spokesperson.
The ticket matched all four winning numbers in the Monday, April 13, drawing: 3, 4, 7 and 8
This prize will expire on Saturday, Oct. 10, lottery officials said.
How much are lucky lottery tickets worth?
According to Washington’s Lottery, the owners of winning tickets purchased at gas stations in Clark and Cowlitz counties also have yet to claim their prizes.
One lottery player bought a Hit 5 ticket worth $420,000 at Ali’s Chevron, 5801 Pioneer St. in Ridgefield, the lottery spokesperson said.
The winning numbers in the Tuesday, Dec. 9, drawing were 1,6, 18, 23 and 25.
The ticket holder has until Sunday, June 7, to claim their prize.
Meanwhile, someone bought five Match 4 tickets worth $10,000 each at Chevron, 344 Northeast Frontage Road in Kalama.
The tickets matched all four winning numbers in the Sunday, April 19, drawing, which were 4, 8, 18 and 19.
Those prizes must be claimed by Friday, Oct. 16, the lottery said.
I won the lottery. How long do I have to claim my prize?
“Winning players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize,” lottery officials said in the release.
If you bought a winning Scratch ticket, you have 180 days from the last day of ticket sales to claim your winnings, according to Washington’s Lottery.
How do I collect my winnings in Washington state?
According to Washington’s Lottery, if your winning lottery ticket is worth less than $600, you can claim your prize at a participating retailer.
If you won more than $600, you must claim your prize at a regional lottery office.
Regional offices in Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
According to lottery officials, you’ll need the following pieces of identification to collect your winnings:
- The winning ticket, signed on the back
- Photo ID
- Social Security card
What happens if no one claims lottery winnings?
“By law, prizes that aren’t claimed are placed into a reserve account,” lottery officials said in the release.
Each June, the surplus in the reserve account is transferred to the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, which “helps college students across the state achieve their dreams and supports early childhood education programs,” the release said.
