Man shot in the leg overnight in downtown Olympia, police say

A 30-year-old man was shot in his leg in downtown Olympia early Monday, according to police.

Police were dispatched about 1 a.m. to the 900 block of Washington Street Southeast.

Once there, they found the man and provided medical aid before the Olympia Fire Department arrived to continue that aid, Lt. Paul Lower said.

The victim was then taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital where police were able to interview the man, Lower said.

The man said he was walking in the area when the suspect allegedly approached him, said something threatening and then shot him in the leg, Lower said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
