Man wanted on suspicion of multiple DV crimes arrested, Lacey police say
A man in his 40s finally was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of multiple domestic violence crimes, Lacey police announced.
The incident began about 7:30 a.m. May 18. That’s when Lacey police were dispatched to the 5700 block of Shady Lane Southeast in response to a domestic violence call.
The victim, who already had a protection order in place, had run to a neighbor’s house for help after allegedly being assaulted and threatened by her husband, according to police.
The suspect, who fled from the scene, allegedly made threats involving a firearm.
“Patrol began the initial investigation and ensured the victim and her children had a safe place to stay in case the suspect returned to the home,” a Lacey police Facebook post reads.
Working with Olympia police, the suspect was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Chambers Street Northeast in Olympia, said Lacey Sgt. Derek Thompson on Sunday.
The man was booked on suspicion of the following: first-degree burglary, domestic violence; second-degree assault, DV; felony harassment, DV; unlawful imprisonment, DV; second-degree theft, DV; and assault in violation of a no-contact order, DV.
Lacey police included this reminder in the social media post: if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, call 800-799-SAFE. To report domestic violence, call 911 or dispatch at 360-704-2740.
