Olympia woman arrested for throwing items out of 5th floor apartment, police say
A 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes Sunday afternoon after she allegedly tossed several items out of her downtown fifth floor apartment to the street below, according to Olympia police.
About 1:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Legion Way Southeast. Once there, they found a group of people on the sidewalk and various items on the ground, including canned food, cosmetic bottles and clothing, Lt. Paul Lower said Tuesday.
Police began talking to someone who pointed out a dent on a car when a larger mirror crashed near police and the witnesses, Lower said.
Police then went up to her apartment. Before they entered, they could hear the woman yelling and screaming, Lower said. But after she came to the door there was no confrontation, he said.
Police detained her, Lower said. They then checked the apartment and found no other resident, he said.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, malicious mischief and reckless endangerment, Lower said.
