Traffic stop nets 1-pound of methamphetamine, Thurston Co. Sheriff says

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of multiple crimes early Friday morning, following a traffic stop, according to jail log information and Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders.

Just after midnight Friday, a deputy stopped the driver in the 3100 block of Lemon Road Northeast on suspicion of driving under the influence after observing multiple driving violations, Sheriff Sanders said in a social media post.

Lemon Road parallels Libby Road in northeast Thurston County.

“The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI,” Sanders said in his post. “A search warrant was obtained for the driver’s blood and to search their vehicle, as probable cause was developed that narcotics were inside.”

Deputies ultimately found 1-pound of methamphetamine, cash, and scales inside the vehicle, according to Sanders.

The man was booked into jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and driving under the influence
