Over 100 Lacey homes lost power Thursday afternoon after a tree fell and collided with a power line. Puget Sound Energy estimates repairs will be completed by Thursday evening.

PSE spokesperson Gerald Tracy said a third-party landscaping crew knocked down a tree in the area of Ulery Street Southeast and Pacific Avenue Southeast, near Saint Martin’s University. The tree collided with a power line and took the line down, Tracy said.

Tracy said the collision initiated a ripple effect through the area’s power system, which shut off the fuse providing power to most homes in the neighborhood. PSE crews are currently repairing the fuse and the downed line, according to Tracy.

Tracy gave an initial estimate of 3 p.m. for repairing the fuse, but said the downed line could lengthen that timeline.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
