Nearly 1,500 lose power in Thurston County after vehicle hits utility pole

Puget Sound Energy said 1,474 people lost power Thursday afternoon when a car hit an electric pole in south Thurston County.

The area surrounding the town of Bucoda was primarily impacted.

According to PSE spokesperson Gerald Tracy, crews will need to repair the pole in order to return power to residents. Tracy did not disclose the exact location of the wreck, but estimated that power will return by 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
