Man killed in Saturday night wreck in Thurston County has been identified

Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock has identified the man who died in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday night as Jesse Martin, 43, of Rainier.

Warnock said his cause of death is yet to be determined.

According to previous reporting from The Olympian, the crash happened at about 10 p.m. July 11 on Russian Hill Lane Southeast. Martin was driving north but failed to stop at the intersection with Vail Cut Off Road, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office told The Olympian.

That location is southeast of Rainier and west of Lake Lawrence.

Once the man entered Vail Cut Off Road, a second driver crashed into him, according to previous reporting. Nobody was arrested. The TCSO could not immediately be reached on Monday for additional information about the second driver.
