Car catches fire in Capitol Campus parking garage

No one was injured in a Tuesday afternoon car fire in a Capitol Campus parking garage, according to the Olympia Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the fire in the East Plaza Garage just after 1:30 p.m. and found a car engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 12 minutes, and prevented it from spreading to stairwells or above-ground buildings.

The Olympia Fire Department responded with four engines, one ladder truck, two medic units and a command unit. The Lacey Fire Department and the McLane Black Lake Fire Department also responded.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire, and damage is estimated at $25,000.
