I-5 exit to US 101 in Olympia to close Wednesday night for repairs

Late-night drivers who use Interstate 5 through the Olympia area can expect a full closure of the southbound I-5 exit to northbound U.S. 101.

Crews working for the state Department of Transportation will close the exit from 10 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 10). They also will close the right lane of southbound I-5 approaching U.S. 101.

During the closure, drivers will be detoured to the Trosper Road exit off I-5.

The closure is needed so crews can repair a bridge expansion joint. The repair was scheduled for last week, but was rescheduled because of bad weather.
