Burn planned Tuesday at Scatter Creek Wildlife Area
For the second day, a prescribed burn is planned at Scatter Creek Wildlife Area.
The burn, which improves wildlife habitat and helps conserve endangered species, is planned from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Smoke may be visible from Interstate 5.
The burn will be conducted in several small patches of 0.5 -4 acres each. The burn is a follow-up to Monday’s 7.5 acre burn.
“Conditions were excellent. We expect the same today,” David Hays, spokesman for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, said in an email.
