Sept. 24-25

People of Faith Climate Actions: A vigil is planned from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at Congressman Denny Heck’s office at Lacey City Hall, Suite 3000. This will be shortly after Pope Francis will have addressed Congress on climate change. People will gather outside Lacey City Hall at 11:45 a.m. for the vigil. A second gathering is planned for 4:30-6 p.m. Friday at Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation’s Vigil, at Percival Landing by the kissing statue in downtown Olympia. Bingo Karaoke Party: Bingo alternates with karaoke and sing-a-long from 7-10 p.m. at the Shelton Pavilion, 190 Sentry Drive. Optional Western theme this month. Downtown Parking Management Discussion: The Downtown Academy presents a discussion on parking in downtown Olympia, 8:30 a.m., New Caldonia Building, 116 Fifth Ave. SW.

Downtown Clean Up and Day of Caring: In addition to the clean-up, five projects are scheduled to be painted, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Meet at 115 State Ave. SE, Olympia, Olympia Press Building. (Entrance at the back.) To help with painting, contact Anna Schlecht at 360-753-8183. A Day of Caring After Party with food and drinks will begin at 4 p.m. at the Press Building.

Farmers Market Agritourist Dinner Series. Friends of the Olympia Farmers Market and Ben Moore’s Restaurant host the event, which includes a five-course dinner with complimentary wine or beer from local wineries and breweries. The Olympia Farmers Market provides all of the food for the event. Tickets are available at the Farmers Market and at Ben Moore’s. The event starts at 6 p.m. followed by the music at 7 p.m. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Farmer’s Market scholarship fund.

Hunter sight-in: Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club, 14318 Littlerock Road, Littlerock, will hold a sight-in for firearms owners, starting at 9 a.m. Instruction will cover the safe handling of firearms, including loading, aiming and firing hunting rifles. The club will supply all equipment, 200-yard range, spotting scopes, sandbags, bench rests, targets and range safety officer. $5.
