Fox Sports to televise boxing match from Little Creek
Fox Sports make its first visit to Little Creek Casino Resort when undefeated heavyweight Gerald “El Gallo Negro” Washington takes on Amir “Hardcore” Mansour in the main bout of the network’s “Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays.”
The Oct. 13 event will be broadcast live from the resort's Skookum Creek Event Center. Doors open at 5 p.m., with television coverage expected to begin about 6 p.m. Tickets start at $20 and are available at www.littlecreek.com or by calling the box office at 1-800-667-7711.
"We’ve worked with some of the best boxing promoters and broadcasters in the country and can’t wait to welcome Fox Sports here," said Little Creek Casino Resort’s marketing chief Michael Bonakdar. "Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays is a marquee weekday program and we’re thrilled to showcase our event center, accommodations and amenities to the Pacific Northwest’s boxing fanatics."
A former football player at the University of Southern California, Washington spent time on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad before pursuing professional boxing full time in 2012. The 33-year-old was also a Navy helicopter mechanic before enrolling at USC. He has yet to lose a pro bout.
Mansour will be looking for his third consecutive victory. The 43-year-old from Wilmington, Delaware, finished his last two opponents in knockout victories and has defeated fellow heavyweights Dominick Guinn, Epifanio Mendoza and Kelvin Price.
Skookum Creek boxing events have been broadcast on Showtime and ESPN in the past.
