1. Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies investigating alleged homicide-suicide: Lt. Cliff Ziesemer said a 79-year-old woman used a shotgun to shoot her 82-year-old husband, then turned the gun on herself. The husband was suffering from a terminal illness and had been in hospice care, said Ziesemer, noting that the man died one day before his 83rd birthday.

2. Man charged with assault after firing gun outside Olympia restaurant: Olympia police report that the suspect was intoxicated and had been groping random women at the Emperor’s Palace restaurant on Cooper Point Road. The suspect was subsequently removed from the restaurant by a group of men.

3. Missing boaters body found on beach in Warrenton: The Daily Astorian reports that the body of 41-year-old Tina Pittman, of Olympia, Washington, was found just south of Sunset Beach on Tuesday.

4. Coast Guard suspends search for two Olympia residents after capsized boat found: Thomas Miller, 68, and Tina Pittman, 41, are believed to have been on a 20-foot Boston Whaler that capsized and was found 30 yards offshore Thursday evening.

5. Police shooting protesters chain themselves to prosecutor’s house fence: Three protesters were arrested Thursday after chaining themselves to the fence at Thurston County Prosecutor Jon Tunheim’s house.
