Jury summons now comes by postcard
Thurston County has streamlined its jury summons. Prospective jurors will now receive a postcard instead of a larger form.
The smaller format cuts costs by about half and reduces waste. Jurors will be directed to a website to respond to the summons and get additional information. The form that was previously mailed to prospective jurors now will be filled out online.
People without computer access can call to get the form mailed to them.
People will still call in the night before their scheduled duty to find out if they are expected to report in the morning.
“Juror response in Thurston County is already good,” said Bonnie Marks, jury administrator. “We think this will make it even better.”
