Downtown parking management discussion: The Downtown Academy presents a discussion on parking in downtown Olympia, 8:30 a.m., New Caldonia Building, 116 Fifth Ave. SW.
Downtown Clean Up and Day of Caring: In addition to the clean-up, five projects are scheduled to be painted, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Meet at 115 State Ave. SE, Olympia, Olympia Press Building. (Entrance at the back.) To help with painting, contact Anna Schlecht at 360-753-8183. A Day of Caring After Party with food and drinks will begin at 4 p.m. at the Press Building.
Farmers Market Agritourist Dinner Series. Friends of the Olympia Farmers Market and Ben Moore’s Restaurant host the event, which includes a five-course dinner with complimentary wine or beer from local wineries and breweries. The Olympia Farmers Market provides all of the food for the event. Tickets are available at the Farmers Market and at Ben Moore’s. The event starts at 6 p.m. followed by the music at 7 p.m. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Farmer’s Market scholarship fund.

Pirate fundraiser for cancer awareness: Noon-6 p.m. at Gabi’s Olympic Cards and Comics, 4230 Pacific Ave., Lacey. The event is to raise money and awareness for defuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a rare form of brain cancer. Ethan Tacheny died of the disease. The crew of the Emerald Rose (the B.O.O.M. Pirates) will be on hand to sing sea shanties, crack whips, sword fight and play games with attendees. Donation boxes will be set up. Pirate costumes are encouraged. Information: 360-459-7721.
Meet the Team ride: Local nonprofit cycling club CBC Racing/Olympia Orthopaedic Associates Cycling Team will ride at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tumwater Falls Park for a friendly 20-30 mile ride. Fish Brewing Company’s 17th annual Oktoberfest: The event features local bands Brown Edition and Mona Reels, as well as a rotating selection of craft beers, ciders, wines and food. Tickets are available at the pub, 515 Jefferson St. SE and online at brownpapertickets.com/event/2220577.

Hunter sight-in: Capitol City Rifle and Pistol Club, 14318 Littlerock Road, Littlerock, will hold a sight-in for firearms owners, starting at 9 a.m. Instruction will cover the safe handling of firearms, including loading, aiming and firing hunting rifles. The club will supply all equipment, 200-yard range, spotting scopes, sandbags, bench rests, targets and range safety officer. $5.
