5 Lacey businesses fail alcohol compliance check

Five of 50 businesses in Lacey failed an alcohol compliance check Saturday, according to the Lacey Police Department.

The following businesses sold alcohol to a minor:

▪  Lemon Grass Restaurant & Lounge, 8125 Quinault Drive NE.

▪  Walgreens, 8333 Martin Way E.

▪  Lucky 7, 4061 Pacific Ave. SE.

▪  Harry’s Market, 1613 College St. SE.

▪  Cheers, 5805 Lacey Blvd.

Lacey police used an underage, undercover operative to check 31 grocery, convenience and liquor stores and 19 bars and taverns, according to a news release.

Each employee who made an illegal sale will be issued a criminal citation, while the business will be referred to the state Liquor and Cannabis Board.

The compliance checks were done in cooperation with the state Liquor and Cannabis Board and the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Office. Funding was provided by a grant through the prosecutor’s office Target Zero program.

For questions about the alcohol compliance checks, call Lacey police Sgt. Matt Koehler at 360-459-4333.
