South Sound Women’s Day: Speaker Marilyn McKenny headlines the event from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at South Puget Sound Community College’s Student Union Building, 2011 Mottman Road SW. Auditions: Wrinkles of Washington will have its Christmas show auditions from 10 a.m.-noon, at the Lacey Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE. WOW’s Christmas shows will be Dec. 5 at the Lacey Senior Center and Dec. 12 at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW.
About orcas: Orca expert and author Erich Hoyt speaks at 7 p.m. at the Olympia Friends Meeting Hall, 3021 Boston Harbor Road NE, in Olympia. The event is co-sponsored by Washington Foundation for the Environment, Ravenwind Farms and Taylor Shellfish. Tickets are $10 general; and $5 for students, seniors, people under 12. Salmon bake, potluck: The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia will host a traditional salmon bake and potluck at 1 p.m., at Schafer State Park, 1365 W. Schafer Park Road, in Elma. Members will provide salmon and beverages; potluck are appreciated. A donation of $7 is requested to help with event expenses. Monday
Indigenous Peoples Day: The first celebration of this event will be 4-8 p.m. at Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia. Activities include speakers, drumming, storytelling and music. From noon to 3 p.m. a mural highlighting Leonard Peltier will be displayed at the Artesian Well, 421 Fourth Ave. The event includes drums, speakers and vendors.
Tuesday
Candidates forum: The Mason County Senior Activities Center and the League of Women Voters of Mason County plan a free event from 2-4 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 190 W. Sentry Drive, Shelton. Come meet candidates for the positions of mayor, commissioners of finance and accounting, Port of Shelton Position 1, and four Shelton School Board positions.
