Sunday

Dixieland jazz: The Bellingham Dixieland All Stars will be at the Olympia Elks Lodge No. 186, 1818 Fourth Ave. NE, Olympia, from 1-4:30 p.m. Information: 360-943-9123. Members $10, general admission $14.

Monday Oct. 12

Indigenous Peoples Day: The first celebration of this event will be 4-8 p.m. at Sylvester Park in downtown Olympia. Activities include speakers, drumming, storytelling and music. From noon to 3 p.m. a mural highlighting Leonard Peltier will be displayed at the Artesian Well, 421 Fourth Avenue. The family friendly event includes drums, speakers and vendors.

Tuesday

Candidates forum: The Mason County Senior Activities Center and the League of Women Voters of Mason County plan a free event from 2-4 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 190 W. Sentry Drive, Shelton. Come meet candidates for the positions of mayor, commissioners of finance and accounting, Port of Shelton Position 1, and four Shelton School Board positions. Wrinkles of Washington auditions: The group will have auditions for its Christmas show from 6-8 p.m. at the Lacey Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE. WOW’s Christmas shows will be Dec. 5 at the Lacey Senior Center and Dec. 12 at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW.

Welcome back: Sacred Heart Catholic Church invites those who have been away from the church to return. Meetings focused on questions, concerns and doubts are 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays in Hallen Hall, 812 Bowker Street SE, Lacey. Information: 260-491-0890 Ext. 104.

Oct. 25

12th annual ‘Denim & Diamonds’: A fundraising event presented by the Karen Hilburn Breast and Cervical Cancer Fund, a chapter of Mason General Hospital Foundation, will be at 4 p.m., at the Alderbrook Resort & Spa, Union. Tickets are $50 per person with all proceeds to benefit women in the community needing assistance to pay for the diagnoses and treatment of breast and cervical cancers.
