GRuB honored in good food guide

Olympia’s Garden-Raised Bounty is one of 14 organizations from Washington that have been included in a national guide to good food organizations.

The James Beard Foundation and Food Tank, along with a prestigious advisory group of more than 70 food system experts, developed the second annual Good Food Org Guide featuring nearly 1,000 nonprofits across the United States.

The guide highlights nonprofit organizations that are doing exemplary work in the areas of food and agriculture, nutrition and health, hunger and obesity, and food justice. The website, goodfoodorgguide.com, allows users to search by keyword, location, and category. Each organization has its own profile page.

Garden-Raised Bounty (GRuB) uses food and agriculture to spur community development. By implementing gardening programs in public schools, GRuB targets youth who benefit from hands-on learning. They also host the Kitchen Garden Project that has helped build more than 2,500 gardens for low-income residents.
