Saturday (Oct. 31)

Candy Land: Trick or treat safely at trunk-to-trunk, instead of door-to-door, at 6-9 p.m. at Capital Christian Center, 4431 Martin Way E., Olympia.

Zombies: Dozens of downtown Olympia business invite trick-or-treaters to Zombies Everywhere from 1-4 p.m. Find zombie dolls in stores and you could win a prize. For locations, rules and more, go to halloweenolympia.com.

Pumpkin Dash: 5K and 10K races benefit Tenino PTA. Registration is 8-8:45 a.m., races start at 9 a.m. at Tenino Elementary School. Entries are available at the Olympia South Sound Running Store and on the day of the race. Information: 360-791-0821 or teninoptacommunications@gmail.com.

AIDNW “Friend Raiser” and celebration: The nonprofit agency that offers welcome and advocacy for recently released detainees from Detention Center Northwest will host this event 6-9 p.m. at Traditions Cafe, 300 Fifth Ave., Olympia. Free music, refreshments and no-host bar. For information, call the Rev. Wendy Taylor at 659-743-5294.

The second annual Interfaith All Souls Service: Service to celebrate and mourn the lives of people who died in our community in 2015 but whose remains have not been claimed by family or friends will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Road, in Tumwater. They may have died alone, but they are not forgotten. Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock will make brief remarks. Meditative music will be performed and interfaith eulogies by faith leaders will be offered. A litany of the deceased will form the heart of the service. All are welcome.

Toy ’n’ Joy Shop: Those wishing to apply for participation in the Salvation Army’s Toy ’n’ Joy Shop should come in person between 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3:30 p.m. Nov. 2-5, at the Salvation Army Church, 1505 Fourth Ave. E., in Olympia. Bring picture ID, Social Security cards for all household members, proof of low-income status and proof of residency, which must be in Olympia, Lacey or Tumwater. International Connection: Altrusa International of Olympia is sponsoring an International Connection evening at 7 p.m. at Tumwater High School, 700 Israel Road SW, to provide foreign exchange students and their host families an opportunity to meet and exchange contact information and ideas. Women of Achievement celebration: This year’s event begins at 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. SW, in Olympia. Social hour 5-6 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature racial and gender justice activist Naomi Tutu. Honorees are Khurshida Begum, Barbara Clarkson, Kristin Jacobsen and Marsha Tadano Long as Women of Achievement; Kimberly Perry as Young Women of Achievement; and Together as the Business of Achievement. Tickets are $25 for the main event, $20 for students and seniors, $10 for youth and $100 for the main event and soiree. Tickets can be purchased online at olytix.org, or by calling 360-753-8586.

Dinner and auction: Lacey South Sound Chamber of Commerce presents the Homecoming theamed dinner and auction at 6 p.m. at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club, 5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia.
