A collision that caused a mileslong backup on southbound Interstate 5 on Monday afternoon took the life of a 92-year-old woman who was a passenger in the pickup truck that crashed.

Roberta J. Walker of Vancouver, Washington, died when the 2006 Dodge Ram she was riding in left the roadway and hit the jersey barrier near milepost 105. The driver, a 50-year-old Vancouver man, was injured but booked into Thurston County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, according to a report from the State Patrol.
