Allyn couple wins $6 million lottery
A Mason County couple has won a $6 million lottery and plan to use the money to help their daughters and to spend time with friends.
The couple from Allyn purchased the winning ticket at the Allyn Market on State Route 3, according to a news release.
The couple’s identity was not revealed.
According to the lottery, this jackpot is one of only seven jackpots in Mason or Kitsap counties in the past year. The next largest was a $10,002 winner in Port Orchard. It is bigger than of all of the jackpots in Thurston, Mason and Kitsap counties combined.
Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. For information, see www.walottery.com.
