Tumwater company to build Mental Health Triage Center
A Tumwater firm has been awarded the construction contract for the Thurston County Mental Health Triage Center.
Big Rock Construction Inc. will remodel about 7,500 square feet of the existing building at 3285 Ferguson St. SW in Tumwater for a cost of about $2.3 million.
The 10-bed facility will be adjacent to the Thurston County Accountability and Restitution Center. The triage center, operated by Thurston-Mason Behavioral Health Organization, will be staffed 24 hours a day.
Thurston County Commissioner Cathy Wolfe said in a news release, “This type of mental health treatment facility will allow greater access to services for the impacted individuals. At the same time, it will cut down on the number of inmates at the (Accountability and Restitution Center) and should help keep people from reoffending.”
