Olympia Tumwater Foundation Noon History Talk: Free monthly talk will feature Jewell Dunn, a genealogist who will talk about the Schmidts’ German roots and other German heritage in our area, noon at Schmidt House, 330 Schmidt Place SW, Tumwater. Isthmus celebration: The city of Olympia and the Isthmus Project Funding Partners (City of Olympia, Olympia Capitol Park Foundation and Thurston County, Conservation Futures) invite the public to join in a celebration of the project’s progress at 10 a.m. at the now cleared, former site of the Thurston County Health Department.

Bingo Karaoke Party: Enjoy a version of bingo that alternates with karaoke and singalongs, 7-10 p.m. at 190 Sentry Drive, Shelton. Optional Thanksgiving night theme this month. Please bring a nonperishable food item for food banks and the Seniors Emergency Food Shelf. Cash bar and snacks for sale. Open to adults 21 and older. $10 cash per person for eight games of bingo with $30 shared payouts, with 50/50 games additional. All proceeds support the Mason County Senior Activities Center. Tumwater Middle School Late Night: Free T-shirt night, Neon Night, Graffiti Station, black lights and snacks. O Bee will also be giving away $500 in their Cash Cube and raffling off a GoPro camera. For Tumwater youths in grades 7 and 8. The event is 7-10 p.m. at Tumwater Middle School. $7, student ID required. Job fair: Job seekers, especially veterans, are invited to participate in a free job fair from noon to 3:30 p.m., at the Olympia National Guard Armory, 515 Eastside St. S.E. More than 70 employers will be at the event, which is organized by WorkSource Thurston County. They will be hiring for positions in government, retail, medical, transportation and other fields. Participants should bring copies of their resume and arrive prepared for an interview.

Pinochle tournament: An afternoon of pinochle begins with registration at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and pinochle at 1 p.m., at 190 W. Sentry Drive, Shelton. $15, hosted by the Pinochle Players group of the Mason County Senior Activities Center. Call 360-426-7374 to reserve your spot. Drop-ins OK. Some of the money supports senior center operations.
Founding Celebration: Come meet and learn how you can partner with the Black Alliance of Thurston County to plan for the 2016 legislative session, build community, and promote ongoing training and caring. 1-4 p.m. at Risen Faith Fellowship Church, 2129 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia. Parking is free, and light refreshments will be served. Children are welcome.
